Living Water

I love David’s version of God in Psalms 42 vs 1-2. He compared his thrist for God to that of a deer when it’s thirsty. Just like in the physical likewise in the spirit. We get thirsty and not even the most expensive drink can quench our thirst. Only water can do that. Same for our soul, we can pretend all we like, but no amount of money can fill that void within us. That longing for something more.

When Jesus met the woman at Jacob’s well, he told her that whosoever drinketh from that well shall thirst again, but the water that he has for her she will never thirst again! that water is everlasting (John 4). That same water is available to us today. If you want to live forever, there is someone who can make that happen, his name is Jesus.

He made that promise to us in John 7. He said “if any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He said if you believe in him, out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water. God want to have fellowship with us. Thats what the living water is about, full surrender unto to God so we can flourish like that tree in Psalms 1 vs 3.

Jeremiah 17 vs 5-8 tells us that curse is the man that trusteth in man and blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord. vs 8 says “for he shall be as a tree planted by the waters and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green, and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit’ what a beautiful promise to us from our creator.

When we forsake God, who is the fountain of living waters (Jeremiah 17 vs 13) then shame will be our portion. Let us not waste anymore time with the life that God has given to us. Accept him today surrender to his will and his way and get ready to drink from from the fountain of life. Until next time. God bless you.
