SIN

Romans 3 vs 23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”

David had done a terrible thing, he slept with Bathsheba, Uriah’s wife. He even tried to cover it up when he found out that she was pregnant,by giving Uriah (her husband) time off to go and be with her, so that everyone including Uriah will believe that he got his wife pregnant (read 2nd Samuel 11).

But we cannot hide our sins. Maybe we can hide it from man (for a while) but we cannot hide form God. David’s plan did not work, so he ordered the death of an innocent man in order to cover up his sin. God knew what David did and he was not pleased. So he sent the prophet Nathan to him and David cried out to God for mercy. …”Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness. According unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions” (Psalms 51).

But like David we must ask God to forgive us of our sin through his son Jesus Christ, even if was presumptuous sin. We should not let sin reign in our bodies (Romans 6) because unconfessed sins will eventually take the rule over us.

Start today confess your sins to God the moment it happens. Avoid presumptuous sin but if it happens fall before God and confess. He is faithful and just to forgive us and he will cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1st John 1).

Lord today I confess with my whole heart my sins of (name whatever you did) before you and ask for your forgiveness in Jesus name. Now rise up and believe and be confident that you are forgiven. I just did! Until next time. God bless you.
