Working For Him

“I must work the works of him that sent me, while its day, the night cometh, when no man can work” (John 9 vs 4) Jesus said those words shortly before he healed the blind man. So, what does it really mean to work for Christ? Working for Christ means doing his will so that he can be glorified in the earth. Not working as menpleasers (Colossians 3) but as to the Lord for you serve the Lord Christ.

How do you operate on your job? Do you show up late or have a very bad attendance record? Or Do you gossip with your coworkers? if your answer is yes, then you need to repent and start over. why, because as a christian you must honor God first in all you do and that means your conduct must be Christlike on your job too. Your place of employment is really your mission field, you were planted there to be a light, to shine for Jesus.

Noticed in John 9 vs 5 after Jesus followed up with his statement of doing the work of God by saying “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world”. We are carriers of that same light, It goes with us on our jobs, at church, at the mall, on our vacation and at home. No matter where we are, we should be prepared to do the work of God. We should be ready to help, to give a word of encouragement, to declare healing over someone and to pray for others. Jesus did not waste his time here on this earth, he was anointed by his Father with the Holy Spirit to do his will (Acts 10). As we go about our day today, remember that God is counting on us.

Let us pray: Lord I repent of my sins today of allowing my light to be covered up by my own selfish needs. Please help me to start over by following the examples of Jesus to do your work. I thank your for another chance to shine in the area where you have placed me, in Jesus name. Amen. Until next time. God bless you.
