The name Jabez means sorrow according to 1st Chronicles chapter 4 vs 9. Jabez knew what his name meant and he also knew that only God could have changed his outcome. So the Bible says “Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me!” The conclusion of that verse was “And God granted him that which he requested”.

He is a God of increase and he promised to increase us and our children according to Psalms 115 vs 14. Some of us may have experienced hardship over the years and some are still living that experience even now. But all of that can change if you go to God in prayer with sincerity of heart and ask him for increase just like Jabez. He does not change, he remains constant and he will do the same for you. He wants to increase us spiritually, physically (health and strength) and financially.

Let us pray: Lord I repent of my sins today. I pray that you will increase me and my children according to your word in Psalms 115. I thank you for hearing and answering my prayer in Jesus name amen.

Until next time. God bless you.
