Let Nothing Separate You

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8 vs 38-39).

This must be the song for every believer in Christ Jesus. Nothing in this world should be able to separate us from God. Yet, sometimes we allow the temporal blessings to take up too much space in our hearts. Our delight should be in Christ and not in worldly possessions. The cars, the lovely houses and even our children should never take God’s place in our hearts.

I remember years ago I was fascinated with jewelry. I had a nice gold chain, rings, earrings and more. I would never leave my house without them. It got to the point where if I left my house and forgot my chain or even a ring, I would turn back just to get it.

One night I got a vision, that I was travelling with a group of church people, who were all dressed in white and no matter how hard I tried I could not catch up with them. Then I found myself taking off all my jewelry and throwing them away and immediately after that (I don’t know how I got on the hill so fast where they were standing) but that’s where I found myself in the company of the people dressed in white.

Are you separated from God because of material things or riches? Or, are you separated from God because of fear of what others may say?   Strip yourself of the weight that is holding you back and be free.

Let us pray:  Lord I repent of my sins today. Thank you for your word in Romans chapter 8. Help me to remove everything from my heart that has taken your place in Jesus name. Amen.

Until next time. God bless you. (don’t forget to subscribe at sheilacurrie.wordpress.com)
