“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal” (1st Corinthians 13 vs 1)
We will never experience true love until we fall in love with Jesus. His love exceeds far beyond any love that we can ever imagine. He proved his love for us when he died on the cross as clearly stated in John 15 vs 13 (Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends)
Many of us have suffered heart breaks and disappointment from those we love. But we will never be disappointed with God because his love is everlasting. Even when we sin, he still loves us, but he will never condone our sinful actions. Instead, he will gladly forgive us once we repent of that sin and cast them into the depths of the sea (Micah 7)
In this world today many are confused as to what love is, they believe that true love is based on just material things or true love is to agree with someone even if what that person is doing goes against the word of God. Where there is true love you will always find truth, correction and rebuke. The Bible says in Hebrews 12 vs 5-6 that we should not despise the chastening of the Lord, for whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth.
When we say we love someone, we must be prepared to correct and rebuke when necessary, because that is a major characteristic of God’s love. I challenge you today, to love someone enough to correct them.
Let us pray: Lord I repent of my sins today. Please help me to demonstrate love to everyone. Help me never to despise your corrections and thanks for loving me enough to die for me in Jesus name. Amen. Until next time. God bless you.
