Repent of Your Sins

“In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, and saying, repent ye for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 3 vs 1-2)

That was the message of John the Baptist. He was a repentance preacher who was not daunted by anyone. His message was clear and direct “repent of your sins and be baptized.” Likewise, as Christians, that too is our mandate to preach repentance to a lost and dying world. We cannot wait until something bad happens or a tragic loss of a loved one to get us going, we should always be ready to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ so that others can be saved.

When someone dies it means that their opportunity to repent is completely gone. We cannot pray for that person anymore nor can we wish them into heaven. We can pretend all we want and even convinced ourselves that he or she is in heaven, but if our loved ones did not choose Christ before they die, then nothing we say or do will change their eternal fate. There is only one way to Heaven and that is through Jesus Christ. He said it in John chapter 14 “I am the way the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” You cannot buy your way into heaven; it is a prepared place for prepared people, and neither can we save ourselves, but we can trust Jesus our good shepherd to save us (John chapter 10). if we die without accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior, we will spend eternity in a place of torment (Luke chapter 16).

If you are reading this post and you are not born again this is your golden opportunity to become a Christian. Stop what you are doing, and repent of your sins, believe and confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 10 vs 9-11) and thou shall be saved. If you are already a Christian, I implore you with much urgency to invite others to Christ. Use every opportunity you are given to point sinners to Jesus because tomorrow is not promise to anyone. Now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation. (2nd Corinthians 6 vs 2).

Let us pray: Lord I repent of my sins today. I believe in my heart that you raised Jesus Christ from the dead and I freely confess Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior. Thank you for salvation in Jesus name Amen. Until next time. God bless you.
