“And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.” Deuteronomy 28 vs 2.
The scripture says we are blessed in the city, in the field and the fruit of our bodies (our children) are bless. Everything that we have, our store houses are blessed. We are blessed in our homes and we are blessed when we go out. Deuteronomy 28 vs 3-6. But there is a criterion to receiving this blessing and that is our obedience to God. The death of Christ and the subsequent dispensation of grace did not replace God’s expectation of us to be obedient to him.
What are the benefits of this blessing? From verses 7-13.
- Your enemies will flee before your eyes
- Everything that you set out to do with your hands will be prosperous
- You will be established
- Your blessings will be seen, and you will be feared
- You shall have no lack
- God shall make his good treasure available to you and you shall lend and not borrow
- You shall be the head and not the tail and you shall be above and not beneath
The blessings will manifest itself in your finances, health and your spiritual life. Do not be afraid to accept it and do not try to hide it by pretending to lack so you don’t have to share with others. Be a blessing today by continuing to pay your tithes (if you are still working) so churches can still meet their obligations including paying staff. You can also be a blessing by purchasing groceries for a family in need. If you have been overtaken by God’s blessings, then you have more than enough to share.
Let us pray: Lord I repent of my sins today. Thank you for your word. Thank you for your blessings that has already gone ahead of me. I am prosperous in my body, mind and spirit in Jesus name. Amen. Until next time. God bless you.
