Strength for The Inner Man

“For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named. That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.” Ephesians 3:14-16.

How do you feel when you thought you heard from God, acted on what you thought you heard and then things turned out extremely bad? This can be devasting to your faith walk and cast doubt in your confidence to even pray for others in the future.

Many of us are walking around feeling heart broken and swimming in the river of silent defeat. We no longer trust our prayers and we shy away from anything concerning faith. But what we see as failure God sees as victory, because nothing goes to waste in his hands. He uses everything and put everything to good use. So, if you started a project and it has failed, please do not throw in the towel, just brush yourself off and try again. Learn to trust God again because he is wiser and smarter than all of us. Take those failures and measure them against the word of God and dig deeper. Whether you feel like reading your Bible or not, you must push pass your pain and disappointments and put the word of God to the test. Remember that your faith is more than what you endure in the flesh. It is your spirit man that matters. That is why the scriptures tell us to renew our minds (Romans 12:2).

Today if you are feeling tired and discouraged. Or if you feel like you have made a mistake by acting on something that was not God’s perfect will for you (though you thought it was). You are not alone my friend. Take courage and draw on the Spirit of God to strengthen your inner man, because that is the only way you can overcome in this season of your life. Stuart Townend did a song called “In Christ Alone” please sing with me: –

In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

Cho.

In Christ alone! – who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live…………

Let us pray:  Please forgive me of my sins today. Thank you for your word. Thank you, Lord, for giving me strength to go on even when I feel like a failure. Thank you that you are the solid rock on which I stand in Jesus name, amen. Until next time. God bless you.

  1. Amen, Sheila! Thank you for this inspired, encouraging word. We need to always remind ourselves that God’s will might not translate into good times in this world. In fact, it is in our weakness that his power its perfected.
