“The Lord is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments. Habakkuk 3:19.
A lot has happened in my life during the month of July. July really took me by surprise in many ways. But despite the bumps and setbacks I was able to triumph because of God’s goodness and grace towards me. This experience has brought me much closer to him and has thought me much needed patience. July pulled out all the stops, such as trials, endurance, and faith. It has given birth to a different level of boldness and courage that I never thought I had in me, and I can confidently say, to God be all the glory.
But, today on the very first day of a brand-new month, I am feeling pretty much like a deer skipping on the mountain top. I feel refreshed like a tree planted by the rivers of water according to Psalms chapter 1, and I am ready to receive from God. I have great expectations that miracles, signs, and wonders have already gone ahead of me. Glory be to God! Habakkuk chapter 3 verses 17-18 says, “Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat, the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls. Yet, I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” Yes, I am rejoicing though I had a rough month and I will continue to rejoice because God is still in control. Every disappointment has a lesson for us to learn and every mistake teaches us wisdom.
What kind of setbacks did you experience recently? Did a few doors closed in your face or did you miss a few opportunities? Did August start out with a bang and lots of fireworks and already you are nervous? Let me encourage you today. Please continue to lift the name of Jesus higher. Let your praises be loud and consistent enough to consume your brokenness. God is still the author and the finisher of your faith and he has the last say. Focus more on him and on his promises and your problems will become smaller. Sing this song with me, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus” done by Lauren Daigle.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace
Oh soul are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior
And life more abundant and free
Let us pray: Lord please forgive me of my sins today. Thank you for your word. Help me to keep my eyes fixed on you in Jesus name. Until next time. God bless you.
