“Fear thou not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee yea; I will help thee. Yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10
Months ago, I wrote on the topic of fear. I spoke about Joshua and his transition as leader in place of Moses and how God charged him against fear. Today I want to talk about fear again why? Because I am inspired to do it and two, because fear is a hidden enemy that we must continue to expose.
I remember when I was learning how to drive. I was so fearful of the road and just the thought of driving made me nervous. But the moment fear and I parted ways, it was like the fourth of July. I was no longer nervous, and neither was I afraid of the trucks or trailers passing me by. No way, I was confident and ready to rank up some mileage on my car. That was years ago. Today by God’s grace I have grown into a confident and fearless driver, because when fear is present, confidence is nonexistence, and all possibilities of overcoming becomes null or void.
According to google F.E.A.R is the acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real. Fear is an illusion that has caught many of us in its web of lies quite too often. Thus, many have suffered the mental and physical effects of just being fearful, without ever having to face the actual thing that they feared in the first place! You see, that is the work of our common enemy, the devil, who has carefully orchestrated this symphony in such a way that you can get swept away by it if you are not careful.
How do we overcome fear?
- The first step is to admit that fear is present and take it to the Lord in prayer
- Repent by asking the Lord’s forgiveness for harboring fear
- Replace fear with faith by declaring the word of God over your life daily in Christ Jesus
Now that you have exposed fear it is time to step out in faith and begin to give life to your dreams. The dreams that never materialized because you have been held back by fear. It is not too late, not when you are still alive! Do not allow the enemy to convince you that you are too old or that no one would care about your vision now. Do it, anyway, get up and get it done fear free.
Let us pray: Lord please forgive me of my sins today. Thank you for your word. Thank you that according to your word I was not given a spirit of fear, but of power and a sound mind. I declare today that I will no longer allow fear to rule in my life, in Jesus name. Amen. Until next time. God bless you.
