Seek Me Out Lord

“I have gone astray like a lost sheep. Seek thy servant, for I do not forget thy commandments.” Psalms 119:176

Sometimes even the best of us will experience some form of disappointment in our faith walk. For some it can be a feeling of loss and emptiness can derive from falling in sin and eventually shame and remorse, and for others they are just burnt out from ministry. Whatever the case may be, falling away from God’s truth does not mean you have forgotten his statues, only that you have been lead astray or taken off course.

Psalms 119:176 the writer asked God to seek thy servant (seek him out! )Yes, sometimes we have to ask the Lord to search for us in that dark place of sin and confusion. To take charge of us and never allow us to drift away into a place of denial.  To hold on to us and never let us go, though we are walking in the wrong direction and enjoying sin for a moment. The real truth is most of the time we know that what we are doing is wrong, but we just cannot find the strength to help ourselves (and sometimes we do not want to stop). But while we are struggling to stay afloat spiritually, one thing we must never do, and that is to forget his commandments. No matter how far we think we have strayed we must always remember his word so that we can find mercy and grace in Christ.

Today, if you are struggling with sin in your life (like all of us) but if you are struggling with something that you know is wrong and you still continue to partake in it. Do not run from the word of God, get closer to him and his commandments and ask for help. Stay in the mix, stay around the things of God, do not utterly cast yourself away, continue to seek him and he will take your hand (if you let him) and lead you out of that dark place. Let us continue to ask the Lord to seek us out.

Let us pray:  Lord, please forgive me of my sins today.  Thank you for your word. Lord I simply ask for your help out of this sinful state that I have found myself in. I know that you are more than able to deliver me in Jesus name. Amen. Until next time. God bless you.
