The Many Faces of Satan

“Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8

Hello everyone, how are you doing today? I do hope all is well with you and your respective families.  Sorry for my late post, but I was cumbered with work yesterday and was unable to post. Please accept my apologies.

My topic today is about the many faces of the devil. What he looks like and what we should never do when confronted by him. Sometime ago, a member of my family (one of my niece who was about 18 years old at the time), dreamt that the devil approached her in her sleep and told her to give him her soul in exchange for anything that she desires. She refused (thank God) and he then threatened to kill her siblings, but God delivered her, and she woke up!  Now in her dream the devil did not appeared to her looking red with horns sticking out his head, no way! his appearance was neutral, and looked quite normal. I was babbled by this dream and wondered what would have happened to my niece if she had said yes. But I do know what happened because she said no. As in her own words, she told us that shortly after she got that vision, everything started going wrong. She dropped out of college (she is back in college now) and it was just a downhill run for her, but she kept on trusting God.

Now a few days ago I dreamt that I was running from someone who appeared to be a woman. She was dressed in a white robe similar to mine and no matter how fast I ran I just could not get away from her. But during the time I was running away from her, someone else (who also appeared to be another female) was running along with me but she was running twice as fast, and each time she ran ahead of me, she would come back to check on me, so I decided to hold on to her (though she tried to pull away from me) I kept on saying please do not leave me! By the time I got to a point I realized that no matter how fast I ran I just could not outrun who I was running from. So, I decided to confront her. I remember facing her, and I started speaking in my heavenly language (that did not faze her). Then I started calling her the devil and Beelzebub and that was the only time she became serious with me (it was at that point in my vision I realized I was under a spiritual attack). She kept on saying these words to me “Tell Me To Do Things My way” but I kept on calling her the devil until I woke up.

I woke up under the anointing praying and pleading the blood of Jesus over my life.  The point is sometimes we hear stories, and they sound so weird that we fail to believe what he heard. But this is true and only God knows what or why.  Today, I just want to encourage you, that as you go to sleep at night, make sure that you ask the Lord to cover you while you sleep (I do that every night before I go to bed). Remember that the enemy will try anything and will do anything to get to you, but as the scripture says in 1 Peter 5:8 we must be sober and vigilant.

What did I learn from this?

  • That the devil will not show up with two horns therefore he will not be easily identified.
  • That we should never give in to his demands
  • That he will always try to apply pressure to get you to say yes to him quickly
  • That he can only tempt you for a season (Matt 4) or for a few minutes at a time (therefore, you must try your best to endure by God’s grace)

Jesus told us that he was hated by the world and so the world will hate us too (John 15). Therefore, if that’s the case, then we too will be tempted by the devil himself, just as how he tempted Jesus. But thank God for his grace that we too can overcome just like Jesus did (John 16). Thank you for reading. May the Lord continue to bless and keep you and may you remain vigilant and sober in Christ Jesus.

Let us pray:  Lord, please forgive me of my sins today. Thank you for your word.  Thank you Lord for covering us while we go off to sleep at night. Thanks for sending your Holy Spirit and your angels to watch over us and our loved ones, and thanks for giving us the victory in the name of Jesus. Amen. Until next time. God bless you.
