“For thus saith the Lord, unto the house of Israel, seek ye me, and ye shall live.” Amos 5:4
I actually never knew about this scripture until now. Thank God for the Holy Spirit and for using my daughter to inspire today’s topic. I am declaring today to all my readers that I have become a God chaser. We cannot physically chase God down, but we can chase him spiritually.
Finding myself in a strange predicament lately in my spiritual walk, I made an outright decision through humility and prayer that I will continue to seek the face of God. It has not been an easy task, but I am pressing on by the grace of God. You see, the mistakes some of us made is allowing our situation to dictate our faith walk. We just cannot allow that to happen because the more we give in to the physical issues the more we will become spiritually dormant. Do you want to become dead to the things of God? No, I do not think so. So, that is why you must continue on your journey.
There is a story in the Bible that I love dearly. it is about the day when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the donkey and the people spread their garments and cut down tree leaves and placed them on the road for Jesus to ride on as he entered the city. All that time they were crying out Hosanna to the son of David, Hosanna in the highest, blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord (Luke 19/Matt 21). The presence of the Lord was so great that the people could not help but worship Jesus, and when some of the Pharisees told Jesus to rebuke the worshippers, his answer to them was if they do not worship then the very rocks will!!
Nothing in this world should prevent us from worshiping and presenting ourselves before God through the blood of Jesus Christ. Never let your challenges tell you otherwise. Fight through your short comings, keep pressing on through the reading of the word of God and through prayer consistently. Keep sending up praises unto him anywhere you are and anytime of the day, until the Lord of the breakthrough (1 Chronicles 14:11) come through for you. if you are going through a rough patch in your faith walk, do not give in to it, instead begin to chase after him, by becoming a worshipper in your own way, by following the example of the disciples and the crowd that day in Jerusalem who cried out Hosanna in the highest. Believe me when I say he will hear you.
Let us pray. Lord, please forgive me of my sins today. Thank you for your word. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to chase after you and to seek you out so that I may live, according to your word in Amos chapter 5 in Jesus’ name. Amen. Until next time, God bless you.
