Mourn With Those Who Mourn

“Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.” Romans 12:15

Recently I heard that a former co worker passed away from complications with the Covid-19 virus. We worked together some years ago back home in Jamaica. This person was someone who I knew very well.  The scripture says in Romans 12 that we should rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn. It has been a rough year for all of us, and for some it has been devastating.  Some have lost so many family members to this virus and counting, and  there is still no clear light at the end of the tunnel, as to when this will be over.

Today I want you to know that I am mourning with you. I feel your pain. I understand completely and I know that it is not easy.  Romans chapter 12 continue to say that we should be of the same mind one toward another and we should not mind high things, but condescend to men of low estate, and be not wise in our own conceits (Romans 12:16).  I know that I am not the only one who cares, I know that there are many others out there who cares about people, and I pray that we will continue to do that by the grace of God. Yes, let us continue to care about “regular’ people, not just men and women of society but each and everyone.

If you have been minding your own business lately, now is not the time for that. Get back into caring for others. Get back into checking in on others, you never know who might need your help. Go ahead, make the call, send a text or an email, however you do, do something to encourage someone else. We need each other and we all need the Lord.

Let us pray:  Lord, please forgive me of my sins today. Thank you for your word. Help me Lord to continue to care. Help me never to stop caring for others and what they are faced with. Help me to continue to be grateful for life, health and strength and help me not to mind my own business while others are hurting, in Jesus’ name. Amen. Until next time. God bless you.
